Frame rests are installed on the inner edges of the super to provide protection of the supers inner edge. These rests are bent at a 45 degree downward angle at the top, lifting frames slightly up from the wooden rest and protecting the longevity of your box where hive tools are often used to scrape and clean. It also can make it easier to pry frames loose from the rest, compared to when lying flush.
